Ingredients

  • 2 can chickpeas
  • 2 small carrot, grated
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 8 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 8 burger buns
  • Salad of choice. We recommend lettuce, tomato, grated carrot, cucumber

Method

  1. Place drained and rinsed chickpeas into a large mixing bowl. Mash chickpeas using a potato masher or fork.
  2. Add carrot, onion and garlic to mashed chickpeas.
  3. Add flour and water to the bowl and mix well.
  4. Form 8 patties from the chickpea mix.
  5. Heat oil in pan, once oil is hot, cook patties, turning to cook on both sides until cooked and golden.
  6. Slice the burger buns in half, add a small spread of mayonnaise to the bun, top with burger patty and salad of choice.
