Offer fruit and vegetables that have been prepared in different ways:

  • Serve vegetables with dips. Consider mixing vegetables such as beetroot or spinach to create a coloured dip.
  • Cut fruits and vegetables into fun shapes.
  • Use fun and creative terminology. Some ideas you can use:

Broccoli = tiny trees

Strawberries = hearts

Cucumber = wheels

Create safe food environments

  • Positive role modelling by eating fruits and vegetables with your child.
  • Allow your child to explore new fruits and vegetables and ensure you are repeatedly exposing them to a wide variety.
  • Offer ones they already love (as well as new ones!)
  • Allow the child to prepare fruits and vegetables themselves.
